INCONSISTENT Harrogate Railway chucked away UniBond League first division victory when they crashed 4-2 to Warrington Town at Station View.

Martin Haresign's side powered into a 2-0 lead inside 20 minutes through Scott Ryan and Chris Howarth but the visitors were level before half-time through Martin Farrell and Graham Mitchell.

Railway were never really in it after the break and a couple of goals from Phillip Mitchell gave Warrington a deserved victory.

Selby Town went down 1-0 to Maltby in the Northern Counties East League premier division at Flaxley Road.

Only a spectacular goal-line clearance from Andrew Cox prevented Maltby taking an early lead.

The Robins gradually countered and went close when Tom Adams and Christian Fox both had shots well saved by goalkeeper Schofield.

Seven minutes into the second half Maltby were awarded a penalty for hand ball, Ashley Longstaff scoring from the spot.

Selby almost equalised in the 80th-minute when Maltby cleared off the line.

The Robins are in cup action tomorrow when they travel to Pickering Town in the third round of the NCEL League Cup (ko 7.45pm).

Meanwhile, Pickering Town's new regime under the managership of former York City player Mark Wood did not get off to the desired premier division start. The Pikes were beaten 1-0 at Armthorpe Welfare to slip into a mid-table position.

But a former Pikes ace made an immediate and impressive impact on his debut for NCEL division one outfit Tadcaster Albion.

Stefan Zoll's treble helped Albion to a 4-1 win at Teversal, who had led through Lee Rhodes.

But Zoll, who has signed from UniBond League outfit Stocksbridge, struck twice before half-time. Tom Pringle also netted before half-time.

Zoll, who played for Albion boss Jimmy Reid at Pickering, showed his class with his third goal in injury-time.

But the bad news for Tadcaster is that their new star striker will only be with them for a few weeks as his work is to take him to Saudi Arabia.
