DIVISION one side Amotherby & Swinton provided a big shock in the Leeper Hare York and District League Senior Cup by taking the prize scalp of Premier division Old Malton.

Phil Hill gave Old Malton the lead from the penalty spot but A&M hit back with goals from Simon Wall and John Dunning before Dean Readman sent the match into extra-time with a late equaliser.

With no goals in the extra period, it was Amotherby who held their nerve to win the penalty shoot out 4-3.

With half an hour gone at Copmanthorpe, visitors Dringhouses led with goals from Danny Gray and Lee Bond, but in the six minutes before the break Cop drew level through Terry Hibbitt (penalty) and Robin Bedford. Dringhouses hit back to win when a Lee Bond free-kick was squared to Craig Atkinson who buried the ball into the corner.

Junior League Cup holders Osbaldwick trailed to an early Chris Cooper goal at Strensall but Anthony Luck levelled before the break.

In the second half, Osbaldwick eased into the next round with goals from Nick Lawrie (2) Rich Burnett, Steve Dagnell (penalty) and a second from Luck. Shaun Lyons grabbed a late goal for the hosts.

Division three side Barmby Moor led at York RI with a Gavin Kemp effort but RI finished strongly to run out 5-2 winners with Lee Dutton hitting four of their goals. Nick Hutchinson completed the scoring for RI's with Tom Gibson scoring Barmby's second.
