THERE was a goal-fest at Carlton where Selby Town squeezed a 4-3 victory in Northern Counties East Premier division.
Andrew Dawson put the Robins ahead after just three minutes when he turned in a Christian Fox corner.
Tom Matthews made it 2-0 eight minutes after the break, Grant Brindley scored an instant reply for Carlton but Steve Davey restored Selby's two-goal cushion when he weaved his way through the Nottingham side's defence.
Steve Chaplin pulled another back but Selby responded well and netted a fourth when a Davey cross was knocked in by Andrew Dawson.
Davey was a constant threat and was brought down in the box five minutes from the end, but Fox's penalty kick struck the post.
Despite being reduced to ten men as a result of the penalty, Carlton pulled another goal back in the 87th minute through Chaplin.
Pickering Town went down 3-1 at home to high-flying Garforth Town in the premier division, with Tadcaster Albion target Phil O'Reilly netting for the Pikes.
