OLD Malton will entertain Scalby in the second round of the Scarborough and District FA Cup after dispatching Filey Town 3-1 in front of more than 250 fans.

Sam Thackray fired the home side ahead, but Stuart Dickens equalised for Filey, who were reduced to ten men late in the first-half when Les Johnson was sent off for deliberate handball.

Just before the break, the impressive Simon Cooke headed Old Malton in front before Neil Wilford missed a penalty early in the second period. He made amends, scoring a late goal to make the later stages comfortable.

In the Junior Cup, the all RJF Homes-Beckett League clash saw Kirkdale United edge out Union Rovers by a single goal in a tight, but well-contested tie.

After a goal-less first half, with both sides missing chances, a Ben Swalwell corner, midway through the second-half, found an unmarked David Greenlay who headed the winner.

Only two Gordon Harrison Memorial Trophy games beat the wet weather in Ryedale with away wins for Kirkbymoorside Reserves and Ryedale Sports Club.

Heslerton entertained Ryedale and the away side took a deserved lead after 20 minutes when Marc Dobson scored with a glancing header. Heslerton levelled five minutes before half-time through Ashley Cooke but a 20 yard shot from Paul Lakin, five minutes after the break, restored Ryedale's lead and John Sherwood netted a penalty.

Jay Brown scored a fourth for Ryedale after 70 minutes and Sherwood got his second to put the seal on a comprehensive win.

Kirkbymoorside Reserves were deserved 4-0 winners at Crayke scoring twice in each half. Chris Hodgson and Andy Junior netted in the first, while Shaun Cox and a second Junior goal rounded out the scoring in the second.

Four second division games went ahead in the RJF Homes-Beckett League with Gilamoor Reserves beating Duncombe Park 3-2, a stoppage time goal from Luke Gibson was enough for Old Malton fourths to beat Union Rovers 2nds, while Pro-Park and Old Malton thirds shared a goalless draw and St Clement's 3rds and Ampleforth were locked at 4-4.
