Huntington beat Dunnington for the third time this season with prolific goal-scorer Chris Dyson and Gary Newton grabbing a hat-trick apiece in the York FA Saturday Senior Cup.

Huntington were 2-0 up at half-time but Dunnington scored three goals in five minutes after the break to go 3-2 up.

However, Huntington’s hat-trick aces were on fire to ensure a well-earned victory. A Lee Powell brace and one goal from Danny Sellers was not enough for home side York RI against Wigginton Grasshoppers, who scored to earn a place in the third round draw.

Wigginton went one up after three minutes with a Dale Holding 20-yard free-kick.

Powell equalised but Tom Jackson soon put Wigginton back in front after taking on four men to fire home. The lead was increased to 3-1 at half-time through Mathew Tiplady. Powell soon reduced the arrears again but Dave Holding headed into the back of the York RI net to extend Wigginton’s lead.

Danny Sellers reduced the deficit for RI but Dave Hartas’s 83rd-minute header sealed the 5-3 Wigginton victory. Osbaldwick were 2-0 up through Nick Lawrie and Tom Wheatland but away side Poppleton levelled to force penalties and win the shoot-out 5-4.

Rory McCrea's second-half goal was enough to put Dringhouses out of the cup and Church Fenton White Horse through to the next round.

Easingwold’s George Kirk and Steve Aconley got on the scoresheet but away side Hemingbrough won 3-2 with goals from Tom Collins, Johney Wildman and Nick Brooks.
