SCARBOROUGH were unable to capitalise on an early lead as they fell to a 3-2 defeat at Worcester City in Conference North.
The Seasiders had taken the lead after just four minutes when Lee Whittington latched onto Jamie Vermiglio's through ball and beat advancing Worcester goalkeeper Danny McDonnell with a low shot.
But a first-half hat-trick from Worcester's Craig Wilding was to condemn Scarborough to defeat. Wilding struck his trio on 18, 28 and 30 minutes to give Worcester their third successive home victory.
During a frenetic first-half, Scarborough made the game interesting when a Whittington shot caused panic in the Worcester area and Vermiglio was on-hand to bundle the ball past McDonnell after 34 minutes.
And while there were plenty of chances at either end during a frantic second half, Scarborough were unable to find the equaliser.
