PICKERING Town's dreams of advancing to the latter stages of the FA Vase for the second consecutive year were comprehensively ended at Flixton.

Town lost 4-0 to the Manchester-based outfit, who play in North West Counties division one - ending their adventures at the second round stage this year. Last year, the Pikes reached the quarter-finals.

A goal from Graham Whitehead two minutes from time secured a home point for Harrogate Railway and capped a thrilling 3-3 draw with second-placed Stocksbridge Park Steels in Unibond division one.

Rail came from behind three times during the match, which sparked into life when Mickey Goddard gave the visitors the lead after 26 minutes with a looping shot.

Scott Ryan equalised from close range three minutes later but Curtis Barnard restored Stocksbridge's lead ten minutes into the second-half.

Again, Harrogate replied promptly - this time Chris Howarth converting Graham Merchant's cross.

But when a Ryan Ludlam penalty gave Stocksbridge the lead again 19 minutes from time, it looked to be the winner until Whitehead struck a superb free kick into the top corner to give Harrogate the point their efforts deserved.

Tadcaster Albion fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Nostell Miners Welfare in Northern Counties East division one.
