YORK RI will take on holders Old Malton St Mary’s in the final of the York FA Saturday Senior Cup.

The New Lane side were 3-1 extra time winners at York St John University after the semi-final tie had ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.

After an even first half, York St John took the lead in the second period.

However, RI hit back seconds later through prolific goalscorer Lee Powell to take the game into extra time. Goals from Aaron North and Powell, with a cracking shot, booked a final spot.

Old Malton were 2-0 winners at home to York Minster Engineering Football League premier division leaders Dunnington.

The hosts took the lead on the half hour when a Darren Dunning corner was met with a well-placed header by Liam Preston at the back post.

On 74 minutes, the Ryedale side wrapped up the win when a Tom Fenwick cross was turned into the net by a Dunnington defender.

Tadcaster Magnets and Osbaldwick will contest the York FA Saturday Junior Cup final.

Magnets thrashed Crayke Reserves 5-0 in their semi-final.

Phil Smith and Gary Simpson scored two apiece and Ryan Ferguson was also on the scoresheet.

The pick of the goals was a 20-yard drive by Simpson.

Osbaldwick beat hosts Sporting Knavesmire 2-0.

Sporting hit the crossbar twice before Chris Bilton put Osbaldwick in front with a 15-yard shot on 60 minutes and Matt Hattee scrambled the ball home from close range in the last minute to seal the win.
