FORMER division two leaders Osbaldwick suffered their first home defeat in six York Minster Engineering League matches as they lost 2-1 to revitalised Bishopthorpe.

Rob Wright gave Bish an early advantage before Ben Jones, the division’s leading goalscorer, doubled their advantage.

Matt Hattee replied for the hosts.

Fulford replaced Osbaldwick at the top following a 3-2 win at Thorpe. The hosts took an early lead, but two goals from Danny Penrose and one from Sam Pepper turned it around.

Rawcliffe extended their unbeaten run to eight games, but they had to settle for a point as visitors Tadcaster Magnets equalised four minutes from time. Danny Coulson netted for Rawcliffe. The top three sides in division three all hit five goals at home to collect maximum points, but a home defeat for fourth-placed Civil Service dented their promotion hopes.

Leaders Bishop Wilton fell behind to a James Robertson goal against basement side Crayke, but their unbeaten home run was extended to 15 games with a 5-1 win with goals from Charlie Bond, Tom Knowles, Edward Donkin, Kramer Smith and Jason Nattras.

Second-placed F1 Racing led 4-1 at the break at home to Elvington Harriers en route to a 5-2 win.

Rich Proctor (2), Neil Yeowart, Andy Proctor and Jake Murphy were on target, with Neil Alexander and Alex Martin replying. Third-placed Barmby Moor beat visitors Rufforth 5-3.

Chris Tatterton (2), Jamie Sedman, Greg Nesbitt and Tom Gibson preserved Moor’s unbeaten home record. Dan Whitcombe and Ryan Williams (2) scored for Rufforth.

Civil Service led Ouseburn at half-time thanks to Josh Coulson, but lost 2-1, while Sporting Knavesmire thumped Huby 6-0 with goals by Andrew Simpson, Tom Wilson, Scott Backhouse, Dan Smith, Ryan Gothard and Jamie Painter.
