Selby head HPH York Vale League division four after an eight-wicket win over Ovington.

Chris Jeffreys (5-27) and Carl Paterson (3-21) dismissed the visitors for 110 and Selby wasted little time as Richard Firth peppered the boundary seven times in his unbeaten 36.

Jon Clark provided the backbone of Melbourne's 166 with 85 against Wheldrake, for whom Calum Dent took 6-26.

In reply, Mike Davies and Paul Lees got into the 40s and 13-year-old James Rouse added 25 for a narrow Wheldrake win.

Russ Bilton came out of retirement to hit 45no and, along with Ben Aked's 46, took Woodhouse Grange to an eight-wicket win at Heworth.

Chris Parker (70) helped Askham Bryan/YPO reach 165-9 against Sheriff Hutton's Anthony Hull (6-33). Chris Harrison (40) was the only Sheriff batsmen to show any fibre as they slumbered to 84-9.
