THE top three sides in the Hunters ECB Yorkshire Premier League North are separated by just a single point after the latest round of matches, with all three winning.

Meanwhile, at the foot of the table, Scarborough made it back-to-back victories to climb away from the relegation places.

Harrogate moved level on points with Yorkshire Academy at the head of affairs after a seven-wicket victory at Stamford Bridge.

The home side were indebted to Donovan Sinclair, who top-scored with 32 as they struggled to 90-6, but once he departed, Harry Stow took control for the visitors, finishing with figures of 5-23 – including the final four wickets – as Bridge were bowled out for 131.

Matthew Good (60) and Jonathan Tattersall (51) then shared a stand of 97 for the second wicket as Harrogate breezed to victory with almost 20 overs to spare.

Leaders Yorkshire Academy made it five wins in a row but missed out on maximum points thanks to a determined display by visitors Hull.

There were three wickets each for Andrew Simpson (3-43) and Jahangir Alam (3-66) as the hosts were all out for 194, losing four wickets for just five runs late in the innings, after Mosun Hussain had made 43 and Matthew Waite 40.

Skipper Chris Grey then led from the front, scoring 73 from 115 balls out of a total of 178-7, which was enough to earn Hull four points despite the efforts of James Logan (4-51) and Jordan Thompson (3-39).

Sheriff Hutton Bridge remain third after they heaped more misery on bottom side Dunnington.

Robert Pinder scored 77 for the visitors out of 191-7, replacement overseas signing Steve Liburd (2-58) marking his debut with two wickets.

In reply, the home side lost regular wickets, including three to Mark Fisher (3-30), until the seventh-wicket pairing of Jack Bolam (50) and Mubtada Akhtar (24) gave them hope of an unlikely victory, only to be dashed as they lost their last three wickets cheaply to finish 35 runs short.

York climbed a place to fourth after an unbroken century stand between Duncan Snell (79no) and Alex Collins (43no) helped them chase down Driffield Town's 173 with a couple of overs to spare.

Earlier a fifth half-century in eight innings from Ali Asad (57) underpinned the start of the visitors' innings – but when he was fourth out, Dan Woods (4-51) and Tom Pringle (3-56) were able to take advantage of the favourable conditions, the latter picking up the vital final wicket with one ball of the innings remaining.

Scarborough, having recorded their first victory in the competition the previous week, made it two wins in a row as they beat Castleford by 40 runs at North Marine Road.

A half-century from opener Darren Harland proved the highlight for the hosts as Eddie Morrison dominated the middle of the innings, taking 5-44 in restricting the total to 194.

David Wainwright (54) passed 50 for the third time in four weeks and Connor Hyde made 43, the pair sharing a stand of 79, but they were the only two to reach double figures as Ben Elvidge finished with 4-29 and Kristian Wilkinson 3-20.

Scarborough now sit fourth from bottom, sandwiched between Acomb and Woodhouse Grange, with their game having been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
