It means their hosts have reached 161 for five at tea.
Resuming on 96 for three at lunch, it was Adil Rashid who once again made the breakthrough, trapping Alexei Kervezee lbw for 4.
That left Worcestershire on 100 for four, before Steven Patterson took his first wicket of the 2011 season to remove Moeen Ali for only 18.
It has left Matthew Pardoe and Gareth Andrew at the crease at the interval. Both are on 22, with the Tykes looking to bowl out their opponents by the close on day 1.
