A dream came true for 18-year-old Bradford-born leg-spinner Adil Rashid when he made his first team debut for Yorkshire at Scarborough yesterday in the Championship match against Warwickshire.
And Adil only had to wait until his eighth delivery before gaining his first dismissal which wrapped up the Warwickshire innings on 201.
A proud Adil, pictured left, said: "It came as a surprise when I was told I would be playing at Scarborough but it was not a shock because I have been batting and bowling very well for the Second XI and I hoped I would be given my chance.
"It was a tremendous experience to be able to step on to the field with players like Craig White, Anthony McGrath and Jason Gillespie and I will never forget it."
Adil has a hectic schedule at the moment because next week he will join up with England Under-19s for the first Test against India U19s which begins at Canterbury on Wednesday.
