Nottinghamshire have taken their lead to 277 at tea on day three against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge.
The White Rose have work to do to avoid an opening round Specsavers County Championship defeat, with the hosts dominating the first two sessions of the day with ball and then bat.
They will begin the evening session on 160-2, with Chris Nash unbeaten on 60 and Joe Clarke 28.
Yorkshire struck once this afternoon, Duanne Olivier getting Ben Duckett caught at second slip for 61, leaving the score at 94-2 in the 24th over.
Nash has shared in two half-century stands; 88 with Duckett for the second wicket and an unbroken 66 with first-innings centurion Clarke for the third.
Nash, the former Sussex man, reached his fifty off 104 balls in the closing stages of the afternoon.
