CENTENARY celebrations started in style for the York & District Senior Cricket League with a special invitation dinner hosted by president Bernard Stevens.
The event at Stamford Bridge Cricket Club featured speeches from MCC president Philip Hodson, a former York player, league chairman Paul Harrand and ex-Yorkshire and England player Geoff Cope.
George Myerscough was inducted into the league’s Hall of Fame in a presentation made by Yorkshire County Cricket Club chairman Colin Graves.
The season gets under way on Saturday, April 21.
