Malton & Old Malton remain on course for promotion from division two of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League, despite drawing with Ripon.

The Ryedale side took 26 points from the match after reducing their hosts to 136-7 in reply to their total of 208-4.

Steve Linsley led the run-scoring with 76, while Dan Foxton hit 57 not out and Simon Baxter made 30.

Chris Warters made 45 in Ripon’s reply.

Leaders Sewerby continued their winning run with an emphatic 142-run victory at home to Pocklington.

Lewis Beasley hit 85 and Chris Chapman 44 in their side’s all out total of 205.

For the visitors, Ben Rees took 6-54.

Beasley followed up his runs with 3-21, but the main plaudits went to Adrian Long, who took 6-8 in 13 overs as Pocklington were all out for 63.

Tadcaster Magnet gained valuable points with a comprehensive victory at Londesborough Park.

Batting first, Magnet were shot out for 146 with Paul Clark top-scoring on 47.

Londesborough skipper Charlie Rook took 4-33 and Mark Tissiman 3-42.

However, it was Clark who again caused the opposition problems, taking 5-25 and receiving support from Ed Day (4-30) as the home side were bowled out for 88.

Andy Kenyon (38) led the way for Dringhouses as they posted 186 all out en route to a draw with Beverley.

Pete Parnaby (3-37) was the pick of the Beverley bowlers.

The East Yorkshire side then closed at 143-8, with Ian Gillyon (51) top-scoring in the face of Mick Kenyon’s 3-31.

Kyle Waite hit 128 in York III’s 240-6, but was still on the losing side as Bolton Percy won by six wickets, thanks to Jamie Rigby’s 130.
