SEWERBY are the new leaders of the Hunters York & District Senior League Division One after they beat east-coast rivals Hornsea by 71 runs.

Steve Janney finished unbeaten on 84 in the hosts' total of 256-7 after Scott Cooper (50) had made his second half-century in three weeks.

Jonathon Fisher responded with 85 for the visitors, who were all out for 185, with Sewerby skipper Adrian Long picking up 4-56.

They take over at the top from Hull Zingari, who lost by 29 runs at home to Ripon.

An unbeaten 71 from Will Huffer helped Heworth keep up the pressure on the top two as they beat Folkton & Flixton by six wickets at Elm Park.
