A LAST-WICKET stand of 52 was a feature of New Earswick’s battling display in a rain-affected game at Dringhouses in division seven.
Tight Dringhouses bowling looked to have the visitors in trouble at 95-7 at St Helen’s Road, but New Earswick’s Ryan Pepper then hit a brisk 34 before Dan Lockwood finished on 39 not out as New Earswick closed on 192-9.
A highlight for Dringhouses was under-15s player Lewis Rennison returning 3-23, while Robin Karfoot led the way in the field with three catches.
Unfortunately the rain arrived at tea and no further play was possible.
Leaders Rowntrees & Huntington had reduced bottom side Drax to 89-9, but they were denied the chance of recording their 13th win of the season.
Cawood were unable to raise a side for their trip to Stillington, whose points reward was restricted to nine.
