James Pullein starred with bat and ball as Cawood recorded their first win at the expense of Brandesburton in division six.

Skipper Pullein claimed 4-36 as Brandesburton were bowled out for 152, then led from the front with an unbeaten 63 to see Cawood home by four wickets.

G Ricks made 37 and M Walker 34 as Copmanthorpe reached 204-9 against Whitkirk, who replied with 130-8 as C Hall’s 3-33 ensured the better of a draw for the York side.

Dunnington jumped to the top of the table after beating Pocklington by 19 runs.

Tom Lowton hit 88, Mike Millington 31 and Steve Young 45 not out in a total of 178-3. After B Rees and S Parkinson had both made 36, Josh Britland’s 62 not out took Pock close but Tom Wilson’s 6-21 had them all out for 159.

Matt Torn was the star of the show when Carlton Towers beat second-placed Osbaldwick by seven wickets. He took 3-24 and Stockdale 4-15 as Osbaldwick were pegged to 110-9. Torn then hit 70 in Carlton’s winning reply of 114-3.
