SHERIFF Hutton cruised into second place in division seven with a six-wicket win at Dringhouses.

Dringhouses were skittled for 59 as Mick Bradley’s 12-over stint brought 4-17 and Vince Coan took 4-34.

Rowntrees & Huntington opened a 31-point gap at the top when they beat second-placed Civil Service by five wickets. Tight bowling by Neil Davidson (2-17 off 12 overs) and Pete Edmondson (4-8 runs in 7.4 overs) had Service all out for just 59.

R&H then slipped to 15-3 as Nick Claxton (3-24) made early inroads, but they eased home at 60-5.

Jason Dale made 31 as Stillington scored 92-9 against New Earswick, who stormed to an eight-wicket win with Stuart Massheder making 47 not out.

Tadcaster Magnet beat Cawood by ten wickets after bowling the visitors out for 60. James Key took 5-22 as Peter Woodhead (32) showed resistance. Matt Hunt then made 37 not out as Magnet strolled home.

Drax remain rooted to the foot after losing by six wickets at Huby. Dave Linley made 55 in Drax’s 122 all out, but 16-year-old Sam Peel struck 52 as Huby took the points.
