A HUGE stand of 190 between Jason Gatus and Matthew Phillips helped Clifton Alliance crush Crayke in Pilmoor Evening Cricket League division one.

Alliance posted 212-2 thanks to Gatus (106no) and Phillips (80no) and then Crayke were all out for 102 as Allan Barton took 3-21, including a hat-trick.

Sessay briefly took over at the top with victory over Thirsk – but 24 hours later Thirsk regained top spot by beating Sheriff Hutton Bridge. Ryan McKendry (62) and Mark Cook (36) helped Thirsk to 122-7 with James Easton (3-13) having the best return for Sessay.

Stuart Peirse led Sessay’s reply with 47 and they reached a winning 123-4 with two balls to spare.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge entertained Easingwold, who struggled to 85-9 with Tom Cosgrove making 30. Jack Hugill took 3-25.

David Speake (37no) and Mark Prosser (37) led Bridge to 86-1.

The following evening, Bridge batted first at Thirsk and were all out for 90 as only Alec Snowball with 28 and David Ellis with 32 had any answer to Ben England (3-17).

McKendry’s unbeaten 52 proved decisive as Thirsk won at 91-3.

In the second division, Sheriff Hutton were beaten at home by Helperby, who totalled 148-4.

Andy Kenny made 39 not out in reply, but Sheriff closed at 95-5 with Ollie Swiers taking 2-15.

Alne enjoyed a convincing win over Stillington, with Tom Shaw (51 ret) helping them to 155-8. Stillington were all out for 71.
