POCKLINGTON pulled off a great win over Foss Evening League champions York at Burnby Lane.

York set off like a train with Alex Collins pushing on to make 69, but they picked up only one run for their last three wickets and finished on 124-7.

Pock openers Ted Donkin (33) and Andy Anderson (21) got off to a good start with a 44-run partnership, but three wickets fell in quick succession.

Three sixes in an over put Pocklington right back on track and Alex Downey (38no) and Freddie Parry (20no) batted through in a 56-run partnership, securing victory. Adam Whatley claimed 3-21 for York.

Shaun Tate blasted six sixes in his unbeaten 63 as North Dalton thumped Stamford Bridge by nine wickets.

Bridge had been restricted to 104-5 after being 80-1 after ten overs, Sam Tennant scoring 46 and Andrew Milner 28.

A half-century by Lee Bradshaw (50) was not enough to prevent Heworth from sliding to a six-wicket defeat against Woodhouse Grange.

Heworth totalled 124-8 off 18 overs, Mike Hattee taking 4-23.

Grange reached their target in 17.4 overs with Matt Durkin (48) and Ben Burdett (34) among the runs.

Dunnington skipper Josh Tattersall dominated the match with 68 not out, which included ten boundaries, as Dunnington totalled 94-6. Sam Tattersall took 4-16 as Stockton crumbled, Josh Tattersall weighing in with a triple wicket maiden and three catches.

Openers Andrew Seager and Ben Smith got Bishopthorpe off to a flying start at Yapham, putting on 57 inside six overs. Both hit two sixes in innings of 34 and 37 respectively, before Ian Holmes followed suit with another two maximums in his 34.

Needing 139 to win, Yapham were effectively out of the game early at 7-4 and were dismissed for 58.

Melbourne’s Oliver Steels hit 61 not out, including 28 off one over, against Bubwith.

Robin Miller destroyed the Bubwith top order, however, Bratton hitting an unbeaten 67 from 34 balls as Bubwith won with three balls to spare.

In division three, Alex Machen shone for Thixendale with a chanceless 113 not out against Heworth Colts’ all-teen attack.

In reply to Dale’s 159-3, the Colts never threatened but 14-year-old keeper batsman Ollie Hughes finished 57 not out.

The Retreat 1st XI completed a comfortable win over Aviva Vikings whose last seven Aviva batsmen mustered only nine runs. Retreat’s Suranga Uragaha continued his fine form with 38 not out as they strolled to a nine-wicket victory.
