SUPER-SUB Danny Middleton scored the only goal of the game as York City’s youth team racked up a fifth successive win by beating Doncaster, writes Tom Platt.
Goalkeeper Ben White had earlier kept the Minstermites level with an excellent penalty save.
Starting the game in positive fashion, Charlie Binns twice went close for City and Tom Platt also hit the bar with a thumping volley.
After the interval, White expertly saved down to his right to halt a dubious penalty.
Reece Kelly hit the sidenetting after a great cross by Ben Weir and, following another great White save, Middleton settled matters with a superb deft finish.
Good build up play between Tom Owen and Platt saw the latter pick out Middleton’s excellent run between two defenders.
