RELEGATION battlers Kartiers and York St John claimed priceless victories in the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division.

Kartiers dragged Easingwold Town into the relegation mire by beating their hosts 2-1.

Greg Walker and Tom Littlewood both scored for the Selby side inside the first half hour, with Luke Boudouin replying for Easingwold.

York St John ended a run of eight games without a win as they beat Riccall 2-1.

Mike Widderley and Jamie Richardson bagged for the students, with Gary Lumley replying for Riccall.

Dunnington went down 1-0 to Old Malton, Dean Nuttall winning the game three minutes from time as the Ryedale side chalked up their seventh away win on the bounce.

Top flight leaders Dringhouses edged closer to their first title in five years as they won 4-0 at Poppleton.

Mark Triffitt gave Dringhouses the lead after ten minutes and Jimmy Clamp added a second before the break. Second half goals came from Ben Locke and Danny Gray.

Second-placed Huntington fell behind to a George Riley penalty at Hamilton Panthers, but they hit back to win 5-1.

John James restored parity before the break and second half goals from James Edmund, Pete Laidlaw (2) and Dan Fox sealed the win.

Tadcaster Albion suffered a second successive 5-0 away defeat, this time at Copmanthorpe.

Dan Leach hit a hat-trick for the hosts to add to goals from Robin Bedford and Mike Creswick.

Lee Powell fired a treble for York RI as they extended their unbeaten home run to five games with a 4-2 win over Wilberfoss.

Olly Newby and Nick Palfreman shared the ’Foss goals, with Nick Hutchinson completing the RI tally.

Wigginton Grasshoppers will be back in the premier division next season. A 1-0 win at Bishopthorpe in division one guaranteed them an immediate return.

A Luke Roberts free-kick eight minutes from time settled the match.

Simon Wall scored twice for Amotherby, but Heworth won it with goals from Dan Horsley, Danny Hall (2) and James Dexter.

Terrington head the table after beating Ouseburn 5-0 with strikes by Tom Paley, Andy Park (2), Ben Richardson and Chris Leedham.

Crayke ended a run of four defeats as they beat Rawcliffe 4-0, Adam Fisher hitting a hat-trick to add to a Tom Hilling goal.

Heslington ’keeper Peter Gent saved two penalties in three minutes as his side came from a goal down to beat Stamford Bridge 6-2.

The Heslington tally came from Andy Lee, Alex Sutherland (2), Martin Pepper (2) and Ben Willis. Nick Shaw got both Stamford goals.

White Horse missed a hatful of chances as they went down 3-2 to Huby, who had led 2-0.

Craig Richardson, Simon Hoggbin and Tom Horner hit the Huby goals and Alex Coope and Alex Sykes replied for the Church Fenton side.
