NINE-MAN York City went down 5-0 against Luton Town in the Blue Square Bet Premier at Kenilworth Road.
Minstermen 'keeper Michael Ingham was red-carded on 14 minutes for bringing down Claude Gnakpa on the edge of the box.
Skipper Chris Smith donned the gloves but was immediately beaten when Andy Drury's free-kick took a deflection.
Gnakpa bagged the second goal on 31 minutes and, five minutes later, Luton debutant Lloyd Owusu added to the visitors' woes.
Zdenek Kroca got a fourth in first-half stoppage time.
At half-time, Greg Young replaced Smith between the sticks for City but substitute Taiwo Atieno scored on 66 minutes.
Jonathan Smith became the second City player to be shown a red card for a second bookable offence with eight minutes remaining.
