CHAIRMAN Tony Willey and 13-year-old Ben King teamed up to win a Poppleton charity tennis tournament in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Poppleton Lawn Tennis Club hosted the event, which featured 22 players aged from 11 to 80-plus and raised more than £200 for the cancer charity.

Willey and King will now enter a Marie Curie draw with prizes including Wimbledon tickets and sportswear up for grabs.

A club spokesman said: “A big thank you should go to all who contributed to making the event such a great success, with particular thanks to chief organisers Richard Cantrell and Margaret Evans.”
