YORK City have reduced the admission prices for their friendly against Leeds United on Tuesday, August 1, writes Dave Flett.

Minstermen supporters will now be able to watch the game for £10 (adults) and £5 (concessions) rather than the original prices of £16 (adults) and £10 (concessions).

The reason for the change is that the Elland Road club have confirmed Leeds will be sending a side mainly consisting of reserve players to KitKat Crescent.

Fans who have already bought tickets at the higher price can receive a refund in the ticket office prior to the game.

Advance tickets are also not necessary for the match which will kick off at 7.45pm.

Club secretary Nick Bassett said: "When the fixture was initially organised, Leeds were going to be fielding a predominantly first-team squad.

However, due to extra footballing commitments which have subsequently arisen, the Leeds side is now likely to comprise of mainly reserve team players.

"Once this had been confirmed, we felt admission prices should be reduced to reflect the status of the game. I'm sure it will still be a great game to watch with plenty of healthy competition."
