CHAMPIONS York were held to a 54-54 draw by Poppleton in division one of the Fulford Ladies Invitation Tennis League.
It needed Louise Lister and Wendy Stirke to salvage the draw with a 10-2 success late on.
Castlegarth’s strong squad made it two wins with a 60-48 triumph over Dunnington.
Bishopthorpe’s Andrene Watson and Fran Critchley were top scorers with 32 games in a 90-18 thrashing of Castlegarth 2 in division two.
In division three, Wigginton beat Starbeck 65-43, with Denise Crane and Ann Mead top-scoring with 22 games.
Pocklington edged past Riccall 56-52 in division four, with Dunnington 2 beating Tollerton by the same scoreline.
Knaresborough’s Sue Couture and Mary Riley won 28 games in a 66-42 win over Fulford 3 in division five.
