YORK City fans endured a wasted journey to Essex as the club's Blue Square Premier fixture at Grays Athletic was called off.
Despite assurances at 9am, 11am and 1pm on Saturday that the game would go ahead, referee Amy Rayner made a decision to postpone the match at 1.15pm.
Grays officials and fans were clearing snow from the New Rec pitch from 8am on Saturday morning and both teams were keen to play, but conditions were deemed unsafe.
