POCKLINGTON stormed to the top of division one in the York Minster Engineering Football League with a 4-0 win over Malton & Norton.

The division’s two form sides clashed in East Yorkshire and the hosts extended their unbeaten run to seven games.

They were helped when the visitors were reduced to ten men, with Connor Shipley sent off after nine minutes for retaliation.

From the resulting free kick, Wayne Johnson gave Pocklington the lead – the first goal the Ryedale side had conceded in more than six hours.

Stuart Barker doubled Pocklington’s lead, while Dan Croft and Barry Gargett added further goals.

Amotherby & Swinton moved off the bottom of the table with their first win in six.

They beat visitors Ouseburn 5-2, with Tom Audsley and Mikey Brown both scoring twice.

There was no such luck for Thorpe United.

They led three times at Bishopthorpe but lost 4-3 as Jason Davis hit Bish’s winner in the last ten minutes.

Joe Gardham had earlier scored twice for Bish and Jim Medley got the other goal.

The only game in division two saw Huby collect their first points of the season with a 3-1 win at Aviva.

Scott Dixon marked his return to the club with Huby’s opener before both sides scored from the penalty spot, John Durrant-Thomas converting for Huby.

Dave Brogan confirmed the win with a late goal.

Two goals from Tom Hogg and one apiece for Billy Atton and debutant Neil Taylor earned Cliffe a 4-0 win at Bishop Wilton.

The victory allowed Cliffe to close the gap on the leading two sides in division three.

F1 Racing beat Selby+Olympia">Selby Olympia 2-0 with goals from Ben Caverley and George Triffian, while Jack Cartwright and Paul Holmes scored as Stillington defeated Crayke by the same scoreline.

The problems continued for defending reserve ‘A’ champions Haxby+United%22">Haxby United.

They lost at home to Wigginton for the first time since the 2003/4 campaign and had their ’keeper stretchered off in the final minute.

Wigginton’s goals came from Steve Jarvis and George Bissett, with Mark Scoreby replying.

York St John put a dozen past struggling Wilberfoss and the total included four goals each for Adam Hofferman and Josh Hind.

Thorpe United extended their lead at the top of reserve ‘B’ with an emphatic 4-1 win at Stamford Bridge.

The Selby side led 3-0 at the break with goals from Graham Stewart, John Maxfield and Craig Welford, while Keaton Sellars added a fourth midway through the second half.

The hosts snatched a consolation through Ben Andrews.

Fulford FC United suffered their first reserve ‘C’ defeat of the season after losing 3-2 at Malton & Norton.

Sam Hall, Simon Reeves and Matty Reeves scored for Malton, while both Fulford goals were scored by substitute Steve Dunne.

Fulford’s defeat cost them the top spot as they were overtaken by White Horse, who won 5-2 at Civil Service.

Mark Lund twice levelled for the hosts, but the Church Fenton side replied with goals from Ryan Burton, Andrew Jollands (2), Alex Sykes and Andy Jones.

New boys Crayke lost 2-0 at Cliffe, whose second-half scorers were Johnny Wileman and Joe White.
