A FLURRY of early goals saw leaders Hamilton Panthers wrap up the points against Tate & Lyle in the Leeper Hare York & District Football League premier division.

Panthers beat the struggling Selby side 5-2 after Liam Stilgoe had struck twice inside the first ten minutes.

Tom Read added a third on 15 minutes and Darren Branden made it 4-0 on the half hour.

Tate & Lyle reduced the deficit on 40 minutes, but Read scored his second before the interval.

Second-placed Haxby United won a scrappy derby game over Wigginton, with Kev Butler scoring the only goal on the hour.

Copmanthorpe beat Dunnington 2-1 to move off the bottom of the table.

They were given the lead by an own goal and John Langley doubled their advantage midway through the second half. Dunnington’s Dave Kitchen scored late on.

Wilberfoss ’keeper Richard Cole was outstanding in a 0-0 draw at York St John.

Division one leaders Riccall were held to a 3-3 draw by Thorpe United.

Gary Collier gave Riccall an early lead, but a Dean Woods penalty and a scrambled goal from Shane Singleton put Thorpe in front.

Adam Garner extended Thorpe’s lead in the second period before Ryan Chadwick came off the bench to make it 3-2 and Ben Olsen levelled late on.

York RI lost 4-1 at home to Tadcaster, with Darren Sellars scoring their goal.

Amotherby & Swinton came from 2-1 down to beat visitors Stamford Bridge 5-2. Mikey Brown led the way with his third hat-trick of the season, while Steve Clay and Simon Wall also scored.

Norwich Union are still looking for their first win in 11 games after they lost 2-1 at home to Ouseburn. Richard Robinson scored for the losers.

Pocklington beat Nestlé 2-0 with goals from James Saltmer and Dan Croft.

Division two leaders Hemingbrough have opened up a four-point lead at the top after a 2-1 win at Heslington.

Danny Walters gave the hosts the lead from the penalty spot, but Matthew Zacharenko levelled. Steve Harrison hit the winner for ’Brough.

Heworth suffered their first home defeat since September 2007 when they lost 3-2 to Osbaldwick.

Chris Thompson scored twice in the first half and Stephen Smith put Osbaldwick further in front. Lee Bunce and Ben Clarke netted for the hosts. Rawcliffe drew 1-1 at home to St Clement’s. Jordan Hornby put the visitors in front, but Paul Braniscombe salvaged a point.

Luke Dove scored a hat-trick and Ben Small was also on target in a 4-3 win over hosts Moor Lane.

Moor Lane’s response included two goals from Andy Kenyon.

Fulford drew 3-3 with Church Fenton White Horse. Lenny Mason, Christian Stafford and Ryan Burton scored for White Hose, with Jamie Husband, an own goal and Paul Gordon replying.
