TWO goals from in-form striker Richard Brodie helped York City to a much-needed 3-0 victory over Lewes.
After a goalless first half at KitKat Crescent, Brodie broke the deadlock with a 20-yard volley in the 56th minute.
Midfielder Christian Smith marked his debut with a 20-yard strike on 68 minutes and Brodie's deflected shot made it 3-0 with 12 minutes remaining.
Brodie was denied a hat-trick by a superb save from Lewes 'keeper Rikky Banks.
The win puts the Minstermen six points above the Blue Square Premier relegation zone in 16th place.
