YORK City have snapped up former Sky Bet League Two forward Tyrese Sinclair.

The 23-year-old will link up with the Minstermen upon the expiration of his contract with Rochdale on July 1.

He is City's fifth summer signing, following goalkeeper Harrison Male, Worthing pair Ollie Pearce and Joe Felix, and Maidenhead's Ashley Nathaniel-George through the doors at the LNER Community Stadium.

The son of former Chelsea defender Frank, Sinclair penned a permanent contract at Spotland in 2022 and finished last season with 34 appearances, and 11 goals to his name.

He began his career in the academy at Blackburn Rovers before settling at Mansfield Town, having impressed on an EFL trial day aged just 17.

The forward scooped the Stags' Academy Player of the Year in his first season at the club, during which he was also a part of the side that lifted the 2017-18 Youth Alliance title.

Loan spells with Radcliffe and Basford United followed over the next two seasons as he made the transition into senior football.

Sinclair made his League Two debut against Tranmere Rovers in August 2020, going on to feature 23 times throughout the season and netting his first senior goal in a 1-1 draw with Newport County towards the end of the campaign.

He featured 44 times during his spell at Mansfield, also turning out 14 times for Scunthorpe United in a loan spell during the latter half of the 2021-22 season.

The attacker went on to play 70 times for Rochdale across his time at the club, which also saw him score six goals in 14 appearances for Altrincham between February and April 2023.
