THE British Cycling National Series returns to East Yorkshire this summer for an evening of top-quality sport.
On Friday July 19, Beverley will once again play host to the cycling Grand Prix – an event which has produced winners such as Chris Lawless, Brenton Jones, and three times Olympic gold medallist, Ed Clancy.
Beverley last hosted the event in 2017 and people are excited to see it return.
The event will start around 4pm with a ‘Community Ride’ – aimed at the younger generation, giving them a traffic free way to enjoy the course with friends and family at a more leisurely pace, before the competitive cycling gets underway.
The headline events are round six of the Open and Women’s National Circuit Series followed up by multiple youth races and a support race, running right up until the evening draws to a close at 10pm.
Councillor Anne Handley, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have been able to play our part in bringing this prestigious event back to Beverley.
"We are looking forward to a fantastic evening of competitive cycling around the town.”
