TADCASTER Albion’s Boxing Day derby clash with Pickering Town has been brought forward to the earlier time of 12pm.

Mick O’Connell’s side will hope to avenge August’s 3-2 defeat to the Pikes at Mill Lane when they take to the field on home turf.

That victory was the Pikes’ first of the season after a difficult entry back to life in the Toolstation Northern Counties East premier division, and just four days on from a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of leaders Campion.

A Wayne Kitula double and Matty Dawes penalty proved enough for Pickering to ensure the three points remained in Ryedale despite a spirited comeback from O’Connell’s men, but the Brewers boss hopes that it will be his side that will enjoy the Christmas cheer this time around.

Tadcaster have also received a new date for Saturday’s postponed trip to Frickley Athletic, which will now instead take place on March 23.

The Brewers are not the only North Yorkshire side to have been affected by waterlogged pitches and freezing temperatures over recent weeks, with Pickering, Selby Town and Knaresborough Town also seeing fixtures re-arranged.

Tony Hackworth’s Pikes will make the trip to Rossington Main on March 2, whilst Knaresborough now host Bradford side Thackley on March 23.

In division one, Selby’s home clash with Parkgate at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium will now take place on January 20.
