YORK Valkyrie will host a trophy parade in recognition of their historic Betfred Women's Super League Leaders' Shield and Grand Final triumphs later this week.
The Valkyrie will stage a parade with City Cruises along the River Ouse on Thursday evening.
Supporters are encouraged to gather from 5:45pm on Thursday evening on the banks of the River Ouse in front of the York City Rowing Club by Lendal Bridge to witness the parade.
Lindsay Anfield's side enjoyed their most successful season to date in 2023, both on and off the field.
Attendance records for a standalone women's rugby league fixture were thrice broken at the LNER Community Stadium as the Valkyrie became the first side to win back-to-back League Leaders' Shields and the first sporting club in the city to win a major national title.
Having won all but one of their regular season fixtures this term, York then triumphed over Wigan Warriors in their Play-off Semi Final before gaining revenge over old rivals Leeds Rhinos in the Grand Final.
Tamzin Renouf, Tara Jane Stanley and Lacey Owen all scored as the Valkyrie claimed their maiden Grand Final triumph with a 16-6 victory earlier this month.
Anfield was also rewarded with the BWSL Coach of the Year, and captain Sinead Peach with the Woman of Steel after their exploits.
