TADCASTER Albion's upcoming Emirates FA Cup clash with Chester has been selected for television coverage by the BBC.

Mick O'Connell's Tadcaster welcome Vanarama National League North outfit Chester to the So-Trak Stadium on Saturday, September 16 in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.

As part of their FA Cup coverage, the BBC will televise Tadcaster's match on the BBC Red Button on the day, with the kick-off time therefore being changed from 3pm to 12:30pm.

It'll be welcome news to the Brewers, who said on social media: "Our EmiratesFACup tie against ChesterFC has been selected for tv coverage.

"The Second Qualifying Round at The So-Trak stadium will be shown on BBC IPlayer/Red Button and the BBC Sport website.

"Little old Taddy Albion on the Tele!"

Manager O'Connell is just as excited for the upcoming clash, telling the Press: “It’s going to be a brilliant day for the club.

“The club have been in quite a dark spot for the past few years, so I’m hoping we can attract quite a big crowd on the day.

“We need to prepare for the game like we would any other game, we’ve got a game of football to focus on and our job is to keep the players’ feet on the ground and keep working towards a cup upset.

“We’re not just going to turn up on the 16th and hope it’s not going to be one-way traffic, we’re going to go for the game and counter them, however it may be.

“We’re not going to just take part, we’re going for it and hope we can get an even better game in the next round."
