YORK City have added their eighth new signing of the Summer in the addition of full-back Thierry Latty-Fairweather.

After being released by Sky Bet League One side Burton Albion, York have moved in to snap up the 20-year-old defender.

Latty-Fairweather made four league appearances in total for the Brewers, as well as having loan spells at both Hereford and Guiseley, making a combined 43 appearances and scoring two goals.

Able to play at left-back or in the centre of defence, Latty-Fairweather began his career in the Nottingham Forest academy, before Burton signed the youngster in 2020.

Latty-Fairweather joins David Stockdale, Cedric Main, Zanda Siziba, Quevin Castro, Kevin Joshua, Levi Andoh and Finlay Barnes, who was announced earlier today.

He comes after previous left-back Alex Whittle departed the club by mutual consent on Friday night, before signing for Vanarama National League South outfit Yeovil Town.

Speaking on his move to the Minstermen, Latty-Fairweather said: "I’m very excited to be here.

"I’m someone who likes to get up and down a lot and try to create. Slip people through, be creative, and defend well one on one.”

“I like the stadium; I liked the atmosphere. The fans were great to be honest, obviously I was opposition, but it seemed like a good environment.”
