GUS MAFUTA has found himself a new club after being released by York City.

After making 19 appearances for York last season, Mafuta has joined fellow Vanarama National League side Solihull Moors.

Solihull ended their season in a disappointing 15th position, after early season play-off hopes.

Mafuta will join the Moors on a two-year deal, after being released by City following a single season in North Yorkshire.

The midfielder struggled with injuries in his time with the Minstermen, before returning to the squad in the latter stages of the season.

Mafuta was pleased to be joining the club, telling the media team: "I'm glad to get it signed, it's been in the pipeline for a few weeks now and I'm happy that it's all sorted now."

Assistant manager James Quinn was equally as pleased to bring Mafuta in, saying: "He's something different to what we've already got in the building, he's a physical presence and good in the air but he's also very good technically.

"He's a player that we've known about for a while and admired, he'll offer something different on the pitch."
