THE York City Supporters’ Trust have released a statement outlining their future plans.

The Trust have revealed a new strategy they will focus on, centralising around four areas.

With the new vision set out by the Trust, one of the focal points of the club’s future will be guardianship, in ensuring that the club is ran in accordance with its articles and protecting the club, representation of the club in the wider football community, involving the community and celebrating their involvement within the club, and fundraising to help improve the fan experience on matchdays.

To begin on the new vision set out by the Trust, they will begin by following three steps to help prove their dedication to the project.

This will include a monthly social, which will be held centrally in the city of York with at least two Trust board members in attendance, alongside a monthly newsletter to help improve the communication between the club and its supporters, and finally a governance review.

The Trust confirmed that aligning with the governance review, they have reached out to the Football Supporters’ Association for help in reviewing the Trust’s governance and to update it to help achieve the future goals set out by the Trust.

A brief update was also provided on the purchase of Glen Henderson’s majority shareholding within the club, with the Trust confirming that their involvement is currently limited and that updates will be provided when they are confirmed to avoid jeopardising any potential takeovers.

The Trust said on their website: “We know fans and members want more information regarding the future of our football club, since the deadline in April Glen Henderson has overseen the process for selling his majority shareholding.

“Whilst trust representatives have remained informed, the Trust’s involvement is currently limited. Updates from us will only be provided when information is confirmed and we are able to share it publicly without jeopardising any potential takeover.

“We can confirm we have re-engaged with the scrutiny committee readying them to scrutinise any formal offers; Seth & Jim will continue their active role in this process.

“Following Mike Brown’s departure from the Trust board Seth will take a central role negotiating on the Trust’s behalf.

“Now is the time to work together, as our football club moves forward we must collectively move with it.

“We as Trust board members are committed to doing our part. We will work hard to engage the wider fanbase; we will include and inform members and fans at every opportunity.

“Keep the faith.”
