TADCASTER Albion, Knaresborough Town and Selby Town have all had hectic starts to the 2023/24 season with new signings, player retention and staff changes.

Newly-appointed Tadcaster manager Mick O'Connell is yet to bolster his inherited Brewers squad, but has boosted his backroom staff.

Mark Suttle has joined the club as goalkeeping coach from neighbours Selby Town, having also worked with Leeds United Ladies and Rotherham United Ladies.

Paul Clayton has also returned to the club from Harrogate Railway, having followed O'Connell to Tadcaster as first-team coach after a spell with Knaresborough too.

The club also announced friendlies against Scarborough Athletic and the i2i academy, whilst former Brewer Kieran Burton has made the step up to the Vanarama National League, joining Hartlepool United from Scarborough.

Knaresborough have had a busy start to their pre-season plans, retaining a number of familiar faces whilst snapping up some new ones.

Will Lenehan, who previously served the club for eight years, has returned to Manse Lane ahead of next season.

James Beaston has also joined the Knaresborough ranks, joining from Tadcaster having captained the Brewers last season.

Sam Kilner is also a new signing for Town, after regularly starting for Hemsworth Miners last season.

Jack Carr made the drop down two divisions to join Knaresborough from relegated Liversedge, after previously turning out for Town.

Knaresborough made a second signing from the Sedge, acquiring the services of the experienced Nathan Cartman.

The final new face to be announced so far is the most reputable one, as Jack Emmett joined the club having earned two promotions with Harrogate Town to reach the English Football League. Emmett dropped to part-time football due to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and is now an ambassador for CFS.

Alex Marsh, Luke Jones, Sam Cook, Joe Navier, Jake Rose, Brad Walker, Phil Milsom, Gregg Anderson, Cameron Bedford, Declan Racher and Harry McCalmont have all been retained for next season.

Selby are yet to announce any new signings, but have retained a number of key players.

Kyle Fish, Harry Clapham, Ryan Gothard, Iwan Heeley, Charlie Clamp, Alex Burton, Dan Davison, Jamie Danby and Caden McGrath have all signed on for next season.

Pickering are yet to reveal any news, but manager Rudy Funk revealed to the Press his long-term ambitions for the club last week.
