FORMER York City striker Jordan Burrow has found himself a new club, joining Vanarama National League North side Buxton.

Burrow 73 appearances in a two-year spell with York, netting 28 goals in that time.

After hitting double-figures in back-to-back seasons for the club, Burrow was released from the club and made the move to Boston United.

The striker has struggled to find regular minutes at the Pilgrims, often struggling with injuries and making just 58 appearances in three seasons.

Now departing Boston, Burrow has been snapped up by fellow National League North outfit Buxton.

“It looks like a club that’s going places, it’s definitely improved from a couple of years ago since I’ve come back." Burrow told the club media team.

“We’ve been here recently with Boston and have been impressed by the facilities, so it looks like a club that are going in the right direction and can reiterate the manager signing us and wanting us to be here, which is a big pull.

“You want a manager that trusts you.

“I’ll give 100 per cent effort, wholehearted I’m a centre-forward with a bit of experience and a bit of leadership and a few goals would be nice.”

Another former York City player celebrated a goal and promotion at the weekend, as Gabby McGill spearheaded Airdrieonians in the Cinch Scottish Championship via a penalty shootout.

McGill, son of former York chairman Jason, started the play-off final against Hamilton Academical, headed into the second leg of the final with a 1-0 lead.

Hamilton cancelled out their advantage, but a late McGill strike saw Airdrie take the game to extra-time before penalties.

Whilst McGill didn’t take a penalty, Airdrie celebrated promotion after winning the shootout 6-5, and will now play their football in the Scottish Championship for next season.
