TORQUAY United have have a newfound 'momentum and belief' after collecting four consecutive wins, according to Torquay supporter Dominic Roman.

The Gulls have discovered form in the Vanarama National League season ahead of their clash with York City this weekend, and now find themselves just two points adrift of safety.

York on the other hand will be looking to bounce back after a 3-0 dismantling by FC Halifax Town, despite City managing back-to-back victories over Barnet and Chesterfield.

And after a 'disastrous' campaign for Torquay, Dominic, who runs the Torquay Talk twitter account, is hoping for a 'comfortable win'.

1. How has Torquay's season gone so far as we head into the business stages?

It’s been for the most part disastrous! The squad lost a number of key players in the Summer, and it’s taken us until very recently to recover.

We’ve been in the bottom four since September I believe, with the line up shuffled around, numerous loan players drafted in and too many disappointments to mention.

Thankfully a couple of recent incomings have improved things and we’ve hit a fine winning run after looking doomed.

A season of struggle that’s tested all the loyal Gulls supporters to their limits!

2. Do you believe that Torquay can stay up in the National League this season?

It all looked hopeless only a few weeks ago, but we have momentum and belief from 4 wins, so without cursing our chances I do think we can escape the drop.

New striker Frank Nouble has been a huge addition for us, had he gone to Yeovil as was rumoured, then the fat lady would have probably been in full voice by now.

Instead we have 4 games left, with a final day visit from Wrexham to come, all to play for!

3. How does Gary Johnson tend to set up his side, formation and style of play wise?

The formation started as a 3-5-2 this season, has been tinkered with loads of times, but has eventually moved back to a 3-5-2.

Gary’s methods remain high tempo, get the ball forward quick, hustle and bustle, which Frank Nouble has suited perfectly.

Wing backs Collins and Stobbs have also brought energy and quality to the wide areas, and that’s been a big help.

The tactics have looked rather old school this season and the manager has rightly been criticised for poor results, but credit to the manager he’s found a winning formula recently (better late than never).

4.Who should York be aware of as Torquay's key players?

Favourite for player of the year is ex-Scunthorpe United striker Aaron Jarvis. He’s scored 15 goals this season in a struggling side, holds the ball up well and is also quick. A player who could step up to the EFL.

Otherwise Southampton loanee Nico Lawrence is a class act at centre back. Big, strong, fast and intelligent - a young player who should go far in his career.

Dawson, Hall and Lapslie are a tough trio in midfield and as mentioned, Frank Nouble has made a big impact to a team horribly lacking in self belief.

5 . What sort of atmosphere can we expect on Saturday?

We are expecting a big and lively crowd this Saturday.

The yellow army’s support has been fantastic all season, willing their team on game after game and travelling in great numbers.

With optimism heightened and a great escape possible, it should be a noisy atmosphere and hopefully another win to enjoy.

6. Score prediction?

Prediction? I’d love a comfortable win but perhaps it’ll be more nervy than that. I’ll say 2-1 to the Gulls with Nouble and Lapslie scoring the goals.

Safe travels to the York supporters who make the trip.
