YORK City have opened up voting for their Clubman of the Year award to supporters.

The award is to celebrate the players contracted to the club for their contributions in the past year.

Nominations from supporters are expected to consider the sportsmanship of the player, the efforts made on the field of play and their ability too.

Last year’s winner was former goalkeeper Peter Jameson, who helped guide York to Vanarama National League play-off final victory with a 2-0 victory.

Previous winners have also been seen as Sean Newton, Jon Parkin, Dave Winfield and even the supporters in the 2020/21 season, the season which was declared null and void after just 13 matches for City.

The award originally began in the 1973/74 season, which was won by defender Phil Burrows after the Minstermen finished in third position of the third division.

Nominations can be made on the club’s official website, or in person at the club shop during opening hours.

The voting closes on Thursday, April 20 at midnight, with the eventual winner being presented with the Billy Fenton Memorial Trophy on the last home game of the season against Aldershot Town.
