TADCASTER Albion suffered relegation from the Northern Premier League this afternoon, as Andy Monkhouse's side fell to a 2-0 defeat to Stocksbridge Park Steels.

It's been a disappointing season for the Brewers, but their fate was finally sealed with five matches remaining on the season.

Just three victories all campaign have seen Tadcaster suffer relegation, after accumulating 18 points from 33 games, and managing just three victories.

Albion will now play their football in the Northern Counties Eastern League premier division, alongside Knaresborough Town next season.

The Brewers only secured their first victory of the season in January, after defeating Sheffield FC 2-1.

But after goals from Alex O'Connor and Luke Rawson, the away side nicked the three points.

Stocksbridge, who dealt the fatal blow this afternoon, sent their commiserations to Tadcaster on social media, saying: "Commiserations, you're a great club and we doubt you'll be gone for long."
