MICHAEL MORTON has admitted that York City's defeat to Altrincham was 'the same story' as to recent weeks.

York once again had the majority of shots, but sloppy defensive errors proved detrimental in gifting the opposition three points.

It's something that Morton is keen to work on, and has assured that it has been a focus on the training pitch after the 2-1 defeat to Altrincham on Tuesday night.

"I think when we came out, it was the same story it." Morton confessed to BBC Radio York.

"Well, for us, there's a lot of positives to take from it, but ultimately we know that going into the weekend, how important it is to make sure that we get result.

"We watched all the of the game back. They weren't disappointed, it's sort of been the story of the last couple of weeks.

"We created a lot more chances, I think it was three times as much the other day in terms of how many times we got into their penalty box compared to them getting into ours, so they just beat us in both boxes. We've done a little bit of some finishing today and some defending in the box, so hopefully that will help us out going into the weekend.

I think I said it the other day and there's a couple of ways of doing it. You keep working on it on the training ground or you make personnel changes.

"We've today given everybody the opportunity to work in both boxes to have a look at them and we'll just sort of have a look now and see what we feel is going to be the best side to go into Saturday.

"We've done all of the middle bit really well in terms of controlling territory and creating chances and limiting them to less chances.

"But ultimately we have just got to be better in both boxes."
