ASSISTANT manager Michael Morton is again set to lead York City for tomorrow night's clash with Solihull Moors (7.45pm) at the LNER Community Stadium.

Morton took charge of York's 2-0 victory at then-third-placed Woking on Saturday after manager David Webb was taken to hospital on Wednesday suffering from coronavirus and a lung infection.

The new boss looks set to remain in wait for his first match in the City dugout, with Morton once more to be temporarily at the helm.

The Minstermen will be hoping to build on the positives seen at the Laithwaite Community Stadium at the weekend, having recorded their first Vanarama National League win since early October's 1-0 home win over Torquay United.

A Sam Sanders header before the hour mark and a Lenell John-Lewis strike in the penultimate minute secured the three points for City.

For the third successive match, York face opposition currently sat inside the play-offs as they host seventh-placed Solihull.

The West Midlands club have taken 33 points from 21 matches so far this term, five more than 15th-placed City from two fewer matches, and currently have a slender two-point advantage inside the top seven.

Like York, the Moors ended a lengthy winless run in their last outing, beating Oldham Athletic 2-1 at the ARMCO Arena earlier this month following seven matches without a victory.

Last season's play-off finalists were due to entertain Aldershot Town on Saturday but the match was postponed amid freezing temperatures.

The Press understands that the Community Stadium pitch is in good condition and York are confident that the match will go ahead, having seen poor weather conditions force other postponements in the non-league.
