YORK City defender Ryan Fallowfield is out of Saturday's meeting with Vanarama National League leaders Wrexham (12.30pm) due to a hamstring injury.

Fallowfield came off after just five minutes in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Dorking Wanderers which saw York drop to 17th in the table.

The right-back looks set for less than a one-month absence as a result, starting with Saturday's clash against table-toppers Wrexham. Michael Duckworth is set to take his spot in a like-for-like swap.

“Ryan Fallowfield is out with a hamstring (issue)," reported interim manager Tim Ryan.

"I’m not sure about the length of that one but the medical department have said, it’s a grade one, so probably three weeks."

Central midfielder Dan Pybus also came off in the first half at Dorking, being replaced by Scott Burgess with 40 minutes gone, but should be fit for this weekend.

“Dan Pybus got a contact in the bottom of his back", said Ryan, "but he should come through. I’m just assessing him at this moment in time, but he should come through.”

Winger Alex Hurst and defender Adam Crookes missed the Dorking trip through illness but "both are back", Ryan revealed.

"They have both trained all week," the interim manager said. "They've done really well early this week, put the hard work in on Monday and Tuesday the pair of them.

"Credit to them and they'll be in contention for Saturday."

Elsewhere on the flanks, Nathan Thomas trained all week and is "fully fit" and "in contention" for Wrexham, Ryan said.

There was less positive news for wideman Maziar Kouhyar who is due a scan on a knock that has seen him miss the last two City matches.
