BEN GODFREY completed his first 90 minutes since fracturing his fibula as Everton Under-23s beat Mansfield Town 2-1 in the Papa John's Trophy.
York-born Godfrey suffered the leg injury in Everton's 1-0 Premier League opening day defeat to Chelsea in August and has not appeared since for the Toffees' first-team.
The former York City defender took another step towards full recovery though on Wednesday night, featuring for the full duration at Goodison Park against Mansfield.
Town took a sixth-minute lead through Rhys Oates, an advantage they retained until stoppage time when Everton struck twice through Liam Higgins and Thomas Cannon.
