YORK City boss Colin Walker has instructed his players to go out with a bang in the club's last home game of the season.

The Minstermen host relegation-threatened Farsley Celtic tonight and Walker is stressing the importance of completing their KitKat Crescent programme with three points.

With just seven wins from their 22 home games in the Blue Square Premier this season, City will finish their second successive league campaign with a better record on the road.

After taking 14 points from a possible 18 in his first six home matches as manager, Walker looked to have found the answer to the club's KitKat Crescent conundrum.

But with straight defeats to Oxford (0-1), Woking (2-3) and Ebbsfleet (0-1) in their last three home matches and just one win in six - a 3-2 triumph over Exeter - in front of their own fans Walker realises work is still needed to avoid a similar campaign next season.

He said: "We've got to go out with a bang and not a whimper. That will be the message to the players.

"I want the same attitude we had for the fantastic 115 supporters we had at Torquay on Saturday with a bit more from us in the final third.

"Our home form is still something we need to work on. We've got to be more positive and create more and hopefully that will happen tonight and next season."

Third-bottom Farsley are one point away from safety but, with an inferior goal difference to all of their relegation rivals, need a victory to give them the best chance of survival going into a home game with Grays this Saturday.

City have already condemned Stafford to relegation but, while Steve Bull's men were probably already resigned to their fate, Walker expects a different challenge from Farsley.

From Back Page He said: "They will come here all guns blazing because a point probably won't be good enough for them.

"They've still got a bit of a squeak of staying up but we will be ready for them."

On-loan Gainsborough winger Chris Hall has been passed fit after an ankle injury for tomorrow's final reserve game at Sheffield Wednesday but will play no part tonight.

Sam Duncum has also returned to Rotherham after the end of his second injury-plagued month at KitKat Crescent with the invite to try to earn a contract with the Minstermen during pre-season.

There will be a bumper cash prize of at least £500 for the 50/50 draw at tonight's match, which is more than double the usual amount.

Tickets, costing £1 each, will be available from sellers in the car park, social club and behind the David Longhurst Stand turnstiles.
